The Road

The Road - Cormac McCarthy This is the story of a man and his son on a journey down "the road" in the aftermath of some global holocaust. After I finished this book I realized that I was a bit of a "gender snob" when it comes to reading. The majority of the men in my life were newspaper/magazine rather than book readers. This book struck me as a "guy book", in the same way we ladies read "chick lit". Don't get me wrong, I thought the book was great, but I personally took away more from the relationship between the father and son than the plot of the story itself
